NLSIU, in collaboration with Harvard Law School has introduced their new course CopyrightX: NLSIU for students and professionals across the South Asian region. This is an eight-weeks course which will run from 3 March 2025 to 30 April 2025.
This course is part of the globally recognized CopyrightX program led by Professors William Fisher and Ruth Okediji at Harvard Law. Participants will have the unique opportunity to learn directly from Harvard professors and Professor Arul George Scaria, NLSIU, gaining insights from their world-renowned expertise in copyright law.

About the Course:
The course explores the legal dimensions of copyright and its impact on fields such as art, entertainment and technology. This year’s curriculum will pay special attention to the evolving relationship between artificial intelligence (AI), copyright law and creativity, a topic of immense relevance as technology continues to reshape art and legal norms.
The course will equally focus on US Copyright Law and Indian Copyright Law, and may also include guest discussions with industry experts, artists, and copyright scholars.
Key Details:
Format: Hybrid (Offline for NLSIU students; Online for external candidates)
Schedule: Three sessions (2 hours each) per week.
Attendance: Minimum 80% attendance required for the final examination.
Examination: Administered by Harvard Law School.
Certification: Participants who meet all requirements and pass the final examination will receive a certificate from Harvard Law School.

Students currently enrolled in, or have completed, undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral programs across South Asia.
Professionals such as judges, lawyers, artists, data scientists, and software developers keen on understanding copyright law.
