NALSA Internship Programme: Applications Open Now!

The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) is now accepting applications for its Internship Programme 2025. This internship is an excellent opportunity for law students across the country to gain first-hand exposure to the work carried out by NALSA in providing free legal services to the weaker sections of society and promoting access to justice through Lok Adalats and other initiatives. The NALSA internship will help young law students understand the functioning of legal services institutions in India.
Who Can Apply?
Students pursuing a three-year LL.B. course or a five-year integrated law course from any recognised university or college in India.
Preference will be given to:
2nd or 3rd-year students of the Three-Year LL.B Course
4th or 5th-year students of the Five-Year Integrated Law Course
Duration of Internship
The internship will be for one month (four weeks), starting from the first working day of each month.
Application Process
Students interested in applying must:
Fill out the online application form on the official NALSA website.
Submit the following documents:
Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume
Expression of Interest (a short write-up explaining your interest in the internship and why you are suitable)
No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the appropriate authority of your institution, clearly stating your name and current semester/year.
Internship Structure
Orientation session on the first day to introduce interns to the objectives and functioning of NALSA.
Hands-on work under the supervision of NALSA officers.
Field visits of approximately 10 days to the Delhi State Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority, Legal Aid Defense Counsel Office, and participation in National Lok Adalat.
Visits to the Mediation Centre at the Supreme Court of India, Supreme Court Library and Supreme Court Legal Services Committee.
At the end of the internship, interns will present a report on their work and participate in an interaction session with the NALSA team, followed by a group photograph.
Important Guidelines
Honorarium: This is an unpaid internship; no stipend or travel allowance is provided.
Attendance: 90% attendance is mandatory for receiving the internship certificate.
