Are you passionate about food safety and nutrition? You can contribute to shaping India’s food landscape through the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) which is offering an exciting internship opportunity for students looking to gain hands-on experience in the field of law, food safety, public health, policy and technology.
About the Internship
Now in its third year, the FSSAI Internship Scheme provides young talent with an opportunity to engage in live projects ranging from 1 to 6 months. This initiative fosters a mutually beneficial Industry-Academia collaboration, helping students apply their knowledge while contributing to real-world food safety solutions.
Eligibility Criteria
Students pursuing full-time Graduate/Postgraduate/Higher degrees from a recognised institution in India or abroad in the following fields are eligible to apply:
Law: Bachelor/ Master of Law (Only at FSSAI HQ)
Technical Fields: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Food Science & Technology, Food & Nutrition, Edible Oil Technology, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, Agricultural/Horticultural Sciences, Industrial Microbiology, Toxicology, Public Health, Life Science, Biotechnology, Fruit & Vegetable Technology, Food Safety & Quality Assurance.
Business & Management: Business Administration & Management, including policy regulation and related fields (Only at FSSAI HQ).
Media & Communication: Journalism, Mass Communication, and Public Relations.
Technology & IT: B.E./B.Tech (Only 3rd and 4th Year students) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related fields.
Public Policy: Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in Public Policy and Public Administration (Only at FSSAI HQ).
Library Science: Degree/Diploma in Library & Information Science or related disciplines (Only at FSSAI HQ).
Important Notes:
Students who have already completed their degrees are not eligible to apply.
Multiple applications will not be entertained.
Candidates must ensure that the internship location they choose aligns with their field of study (e.g., only technical candidates are eligible for FSSAI lab internships).
Stipend: Rs. 10,000.
Internship Duration
Internships are offered on a quarterly basis throughout the year.
Minimum Duration: 2 months
Maximum Duration: 6 months
No internships will be granted for a period of less than 2 months.
